  From Antiquity to the Renaissance
Yet, in the antiquity, the rich pratician families have baths
and the roman coasters found there a salutary shelter as said the mention
of Eze under the name Avisionis portus in the Antonin's itinerary.
Then, in the Renaissance period, people from Genova
came to provide with salt in the the salt marsh.

The president Raymond Poincaré during an official visit stopped in Eze. He stayed then in the villa Les Pins.
Sakarof, the painter, Princess Antoinette Grimaldi, the sister of Prince Rainier III of Monaco, and Bono of U2 have also put mark on Eze.

  Nowadays
Today, with the villas whose facades embellished with painted friezes,
Eze sea side has kept the charm of the Belle Epoque.
The villa "Les Platanes" with a small entrance decorated
with roses in bas relief and an alley of mandarine trees reminds
the time when people from Nice used to come by train
or by caleche to go to the shaded pinewoods beach.
